Social support network

People’s relationships and interactions with family, friends, co-workers, and community members can have a major impact on their health and well-being.

The Social Support Network is a crucial determinant of health, playing a pivotal role in influencing mental well-being, treatment adherence, and health-promoting behaviors.

Nurses are pivotal in recognizing and addressing the impact of social support networks on individuals' health. (NAS, 2019) Scientific evidence highlights that individuals with social support networks experience improved mental health outcomes, exhibit better adherence to treatment plans, and engage in healthier behaviors that promote overall well-being.

Social support networks have a tremendous influence on people’s health status due to them having support from others around them.
